GBRC swept the top ten places at the annual 5k race sponsored the Holy Rosary Medical Center. The highlight of the day was Kevin being awarded the top prize of a fire extinguisher for his efforts.

29th ANNUAL RACE TO ROBIE CREEK Boise 4/15/06

 

Travis Armstrong claimed local road supremacy by demolishing the field at Boise's annual right of spring. The Robie Creek Half Marathon is considered by many to be the toughest in the west. Travis posted a winning mark of 1 hour 17 minutes and 17 seconds to win by over a minute and half.

30th ANNUAL LILAC BLOOMSDAY RUN Spokane, WA 5/7/06

The annual Bloomsday run (12000m - 7 1/2 miles) attracted nearly 44,000 runners with some of the fastest racing in it's 30 year history. This is the second largest race in the country and the most prestigous race in the west. The Elite fields were headed many great african runners along with world class athletes from others countries as well as the US. The top 4 female athletes posted marks that make into the top 15 all-time at bloomsday. The top athletes for GBRC were Rosemary Ryan in 12th place for the women and Travis Armstrong in 23rd for the men. Travis posted a course pr of over 1:30 along with being the 6th American.

The GB women ran the best in our history as a group with four in the top 36. The GB men again showed we are one of the finer clubs in the country with five in the top 47 in a super fast race.
